Growing up every child wants to drive a car. To go fast whilst changing tracks on the music player, squirt water from the windshield washer and watch the viper go left and right. Although in real life this never seem like a good idea but then you don't want to debate with a kid and bum them out. You teach the right thing once the time comes for them to get behind the wheels. However, many folks fail to change even after they grow up, as they stick to their shenanigans whilst they operate a vehicle & gets branded as a dummy driver.
Unfortunately thats when things go horribly wrong, for themselves, for the passengers and the ones inside the cars around them. It can go bad in so many ways that a blog might not be enough to cover each of it, one will need to write a full- fledged book.
Driver safety:
Now a days automakers around the world are coming out with vehicles that has state of the art safety features. Even the governments are pushing them to increase safety in every type of four wheeler scheduled to hit the streets. From 4 mandatory airbags to electronic stability control to speed alerts, its like sitting inside a kangaroo pouch. As if the car is your mama and you're her child she protecting at all cost. Although at high speeds none of the safety features can help a speedster, as such its always advised to cruise under the speed limit. Even if one doesn't seem to care, the speed guns with the cops does the job most times unless its a high powered sports car then its just Jesus who stays around as a savior.
Ripping in the hills:
Cruising in your 64 on straight roads in the plains still looks drivable to some extent but it gets way too serious while rolling up the hills. One missed turn and you can say goodbye to dear life. Even overtaking becomes a challenge as you never know what stands in the corner. One gets an exact idea of the factual plight on the Road to 72 virgins! Driving uphill is another task which most seems to struggle at, although thanks to the automakers, now days you get features like hill-climb assist, so the ones with vehicles equipped with it helps in a big way. The frustrating part is even on such dangerous roads you meet immortals ready to run you down or themselves down the hill!
Speeding under the influence of a substance becomes another death defying stunt. Lucky are the ones who have designated drivers but when you yourself wish to feel the adrenaline under the influence and play 'Dom' from 'Fast & F..' then things do take a serious turn and chances are you'd never come out in one piece alive. Remember, if roads are hilly then don't act silly!
Police stops:
Police check-up points are the need of the hour. If folks don't listen to their co-passengers while stunting on the roads then most definitely they will heed when a cop tell them to stop, turn off the ignition and step out of the vehicle. Fines can be issued, licenses can be confiscated or worse the precious rides can be seized. This might make some people angry or even cry but at least the roads are safe and so are their lives. Most people do learn a lesson for the time being and behave orderly behind the wheels until the next police stop. Wonder how confused the cops will be when they see people trying to cheat death day after day. Might persuade them to give medals to the ones driving sane.
Road Rage:
Road rage is another horrible result caused by dummy drivers. Most people fail to control their emotions and thats when heated arguments and physical altercations ensue. In some cases lives are also lost as there are others who do travel locked and loaded. Parking remains another bizarre reason that sparks arguments, fights & casualties, as such one needs to directly refer How to park & master the tricks of the trade.
Nobody wish to tell a story how they lost a closed one to a road rage incident. As everybody knows you can avoid such incidents just by ignoring it or simply apologizing. Unfortunately many people think too much of themselves to apologize. Accepting ones mistake that they messed up is just out of the question. One will rather face a weapon or a court case than accept their mistake. Later in such cases chills runs down the spine every time the individual sits behind the wheel. Flashbacks occur in an instant, of the fateful day when a road rage incident changed their whole life. Followed with guilt thinking how easier things could have been if they would have just let it go.
Conclusion:
Going like the wind in a race might be an art but operating a vehicle to drop your kids to school is supposed to be just a chore. If one gets worked up while driving then going to the gym later will bring your mind to a relaxed state. You have too much to drink, get yourself a cab or put your sober friend behind the wheel. There is an alternative to every ordeal on the road, we just have to act upon it the right way and avoid bringing out the dummy driver inside us. Cars are meant to get you to a place quicker than a walk or a bullock cart and not a jet plane. We can avoid an accident if we just think right and the chances of it won't even get created. Remember, theres somebody waiting for you at home. Drive safe;)
